Despite the weather forecast

The forecast says easterlies with moderate seas. In reality, the winds are taking him south and the waves are such that the boat was close to going end over end this morning. Coupled with that Simon has had to contend with a hailstorm this morning. Hopefully the bad weather will be short-lived and Simon can get back to rowing properly. He described his present activity as using the oars to keep the boat pointing in the right direction and surfing the waves. He is presently (trying to ) row north to get any sort of westerly movement.

He is having to hold on to the seat with one hand, to stay seated then swap hands every couple of strokes. He has also head-butted the cabin a couple of times when he has not managed to keep his buttocks in close contact with the seat.

Other than that, everything seems to be working at the moment and a steady stream of messages to his satellite phone are keeping his spirits up. Adrian, if you are reading this, you were particularly mentioned this morning, thanks.

Talking of which, the shortcut that I had for the iridium messaging service stopped working when they changed the address slightly. It is now :

http://messaging.iridium.com/

Tel No 881651439612  (The 8816 is already given as it is common to all Iridium phones).

This service is free., unlike voice messages but don't get me started on that !
