Welcome to A Man to Mauritius!
This website has been designed to track the progress of Simon Prior as he prepares for a truly, once in a life time adventure.
Simon has chosen to compete in one of “The World's Toughest Rowing Races”, the first ever Indian Ocean Rowing Race set for 2009, rowing from Australia to Mauritius. Any ocean row is difficult; given that more people have walked on the surface of the moon than have rowed the Indian Ocean, it makes the challenge a little bit more special.
To find out how you can get involved involved: you can keep up to date with Simon's blog during his preparations, you can support Simon's chosen charity - the Willow Foundation, and you can HELP Simon get to the start line by making a pledge to his cause

"This has got to be the toughest challenge that anyone has ever chosen to take on for the Willow Foundation and we are honoured that Simon has chosen us. We wish Simon all the best for the thousand of miles he'll be rowing for us and so many seriously ill young adults"
Bob Wilson OBE is the former Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper, who along with his wife, Megs, founded the Willow Foundation in memory of their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer shortly before her 32nd birthday.

" Simon's commitment to this challenge - both in terms of the preparations just to get himself and his boat to the starting line and preparing for the mental and physical challenge of actually performing is awesome. I'm very glad that Simon is part of Old Mutual and to know that we have people like him on our team supporting the Asia Pacific business. Its humbling to see what someone with passion can achieve."
Steffen Gilbert - Regional Head, Old Mutual - Asia Pacific
